My name is Shane Alexander and I am the owner/operator of SMA Inspections, LLC. After high school, I started working construction and have experience in everything from small remodeling projects, full home renovations, and new construction homes. From 2008 to 2019 I was enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard as an Avionics Electrical Technician and Flight Mechanic on MH60T helicopters.

In early 2020 I earned my Home Inspection License. After 3 years with another company, I felt it was time to pursue my long-time goal of owning my own company and working for myself.

In April 2023, SMA Inspections, LLC was born!
I look forward to continuing to work with my amazing clients and realtors and strive to offer the best inspection services around!

TRAINED AND EXPERIENCED

Our inspectors are Louisiana Licensed and Certified Master Inspectors (CMI®) trained by InterNACHI—the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (www.NACHI.org)—which is the world's largest nonprofit association of residential and commercial property inspectors that provides education, training, and certification.

All InterNACHI CMI® are required to pass an Inspector Exam, follow a comprehensive Standards of Practice, abide by a strict Code of Ethics, and take accredited Continuing Education courses each year in order to maintain their membership in good standing.

In order to become certified, our inspectors were required to take inspection courses related to the interior and exterior of the home, including the common and major areas of concern for home buyers, such as the foundation, heating and cooling, roof, plumbing, and electrical systems. Our inspectors are graduates of the InterNACHI® School, the world's only home inspector college that offers the nationally-accredited Home Inspector Certificate Program.

Buying a home is typically the biggest investment you will ever make, so it's important to get a home inspection because the inspector can find and document defects that may or may not be evident to you.  Such defects can range from simple replacements or repairs to severe damage or safety and health concerns.
